For the second year in a row, Local 449 is co-hosting The Natural Refrigerant Training Summit. This national event is a collaboration with the NASRC that continues to solidify our technology center as a mecca for education and training in the industry. Technicians and students from all over the region are invited to this FREE 3-day training and networking event.
Trainers and industry leading manufacturers from around the country will all convene at the Technology Center in March to train HVAC-R technicians on the latest technology in sustainable refrigeration. This includes both classroom and hands-on training sessions. From our state-of-the-art training facility to our beautiful event center, we can accommodate all the different aspects of this event.
On March 25th and 26th the summit will provide comprehensive training on CO2 and propane from multiple manufacturers and industry experts. Day 3 (March 27th) will serve as a half day Advanced CO2 workshop. In addition to the training sessions, day two of the event will include a career fair. Free to students and faculty, this networking event allows aspiring technicians an opportunity to mingle with potential employers, current HVAC-R professionals, and other experts in refrigeration.
Who is the NASRC? Started in September of 2015, the North American Sustainable Refrigeration Council is an environmental non-profit agency working to advance natural refrigerant adoption in the grocery sector, dedicated to advancing natural refrigerants to make for a more sustainable future when it comes to supermarket refrigeration.
Natural refrigerants, including carbon, dioxide, ammonia and hydrocarbons, are a climate-friendly and future-proof refrigerant solution for supermarkets, but it’s not that easy making the switch. Thanks to the members of the North American Sustainable Refrigeration Council, they’re addressing the issues of high upfront cost premiums, a shortage of workforce training, lock of performance data and technology gaps in existing stores to help establish a pathway for widespread adoption of natural refrigerants across North America.
