The pride we take in the history of our local can be seen right when you walk into our Steamfitters Technology Center. Old photos and Steamfitters’ memorabilia can be found throughout the hall commemorating our more than 110-year history as an organization. One of the more recent additions to the walls of our facility is a large photo featuring Local 449 Steamfitters Ann Flasck, Regina DeLallo, Jessica Traynor, and Victoria Comer.

“The last job I was on, there were four female Steamfitters. Which was a big deal! When I started there were maybe six in total. We recently had four on one job. So, I had our picture taken,” said Ann Flasck.

This photo is a symbol of progress for our organization. In a historically male dominated field, having this type of female representation on one job is truly a significant moment for Local 449. Hanging this photo in our halls both celebrates these hardworking female pioneers and serves as an inspiration to future generations of women with aspirations of entering the building trades.
