The milestone marked an important achievement for Energy Transfer and highlighted the strong partnership between industry leaders and union professionals.
About the Mariner East Pipeline Project
The Mariner East pipeline system transports propane, ethane, and butane, commonly known as natural gas liquids (NGLs). These resources play a vital role in everyday life. They support home heating and also contribute to products such as food packaging, adhesives, carpeting, and medical devices.
Moreover, the pipeline provides a safer and more efficient method for transporting NGLs across the region. At the same time, the project supports long-term employment opportunities and strengthens local communities through skilled union labor.

Steamfitters UA449 Energy Transfer Pittsburgh welcomed project partners, union leadership, and guests to celebrate this achievement together. The event reflected the pride and craftsmanship behind the project and recognized the teamwork required to complete it successfully.
Attendees included representatives from Energy Transfer, Steamfitters Local 449, and industry organizations. Among them were Chris Koop and Joe MiGinn from Energy Transfer, along with Chad Gilbert, Mike Mikich, Dave Butterworth from UA leadership, and Dave Callahan of the Marcellus Shale Coalition. Their presence underscored the importance of collaboration and shared success.

Following the celebration, guests also learned more about the Steamfitters Local 449 Event Center. This modern, full-service facility offers approximately 8,000 square feet of flexible space and can accommodate up to 600 guests. Event areas may be rented individually or combined, depending on the needs of each occasion.
