The Natural Refrigerant Training Summit is upon us! Tomorrow kicks off the anticipated event through March 21, 2024. Steamfitters will be co-hosting a 3-day in-person training summit at the Technology Center with the North American Sustainable Refrigeration Council. All Refrigeration Technicians (both union and non-union) are invited to participate. Also, Local 449 HVACR students and faculty are invited to join networking sessions to help build the industry. Before you join us, here is everything you need to know about the event:  

  • DATES/TIMES:  
    • Tuesday, March 19th: Classroom Trainings (7:30AM-3:30PM), Industry Networking (3:30PM-5:00PM) 
    • Wednesday, March 20th:  Classroom Trainings (7:30AM-3:30PM), Student Networking (3:30PM-6:00PM) 
    • Thursday, March 21st: Classroom and *Hands-on Trainings (7:30AM-1:30PM)

  • CHECK-IN: Opens at 6:30AM on Tuesday, March 19th. Upon arrival, please enter through the front entrance to pick up your badge and program (see facility map). 
  • AGENDA: Review the agenda to build your personal schedule in advance. Keep in mind: 
    • Classroom seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. 
    • If a classroom is already full, you will need to select a different session. 
    • Most training sessions will repeat at least once. Plan your schedule in advance to make sure you catch all of your top sessions. 
  • HANDS-ON TRAINING: In addition to classroom trainings, you will have the opportunity to sign up for 20-minute small group hands-on sessions with various equipment offerings on DAY 3. 
    • Hands-on descriptions will be available at check-in. 
    • Space is limited and you must sign up in-person at the info desk. 
      • Sign-ups will start at 9:00am on Tuesday, March 19th. 
  • NETWORKING SESSIONS: There will be networking and refreshment opportunities throughout the event in the expo gall. Additionally, don’t miss the two dedicated networking sessions: 
    • Industry Networking: Tuesday, March 19th, 3:30PM-5:00PM 
      • Special thanks to DeWalt for sponsoring the bar! 
    • HVACR Student & Faculty Networking: Wednesday, March 20th, 3:30PM-6:00PM 
      • Connect with students and faculty from local HVACR schools. 
      • Feel free to bring employment opportunities for students!

  • TRAVEL/PARKING: If you plan to drive to the event, you may park directly in the building parking lot. There is also overflow parking in the grass. There will be volunteers to help direct traffic.
