UA449 Golf Outing 2022

The UA449 Golf Outing 2022 took place once again at Blackhawk Golf Course and delivered another outstanding experience for everyone involved. The event sold out, welcoming 284 golfers for a full day on the course. Overall, the outing was a major success and reflected the strong sense of teamwork within Steamfitters Local 449.

All attendees received a UA449 golf towel, a sleeve of balls, and tees at sign-in. In addition, golfers enjoyed hot dogs at the turn and a steak dinner following the round. A refreshment cart visited every nine holes, which kept everyone hydrated throughout the day. As a result, players stayed energized, and the great weather made the experience even better. The outing also featured an impressive selection of prizes, including high-end clubs, golf bags, shirts, balls, and gift cards.


Courses 1 and 2 Winners and Skill Prize Results

Courses 1 and 2 produced strong competition and exciting results. First place finished at 15 under, with repeating winners Mike Bryne, Matt LaPlace, CJ LaPlace, and Bill Stewart. Second place followed closely at 11 under, earned by Ken Broadbent, Tim Goldberg, Jim McCann, and Mike Dahler.

Skill prize winners for closest to the pin included #2 Russ โ€œLittle Alvinโ€ Wiefling, #5 Neil Giering, #11 Justin Wachter on the $10,000 hole, and #15 Tim Goldburg. In addition, closest-to-the-pin-in-two honors went to #6 Jim McCann, #8 Tim Dzbinski, and #18 Jason Duerr.


Courses 3 and 4 Winners and Skill Prize Results

Courses 3 and 4 also delivered impressive performances. First place finished at 14 under, claimed by Lou Reda, Kolten Richter, Josh Repasi, and Nick Macedonia. Second place came in at 9 under, with Joe Little, Tom Little, Brian Kadlubek, and Gino Torretta.

Skill prize winners for closest to the pin included #3 Rick Wuenschell, #6 Kolten Richter, #13 Gino Torretta on the $10,000 hole, and #16 T.J. Takacs. Meanwhile, closest-to-the-pin-in-two honors went to #2 Lou Reda, #7 Josh Repasi, #12 Gino Torretta, and #17, where Vinny Dawrench and Nick Macedonia both holed out for an eagle.


Volunteers and Event Support

The success of the UA449 Golf Outing 2022 would not have been possible without dedicated volunteers. Many individuals helped with registration, hole-in-one witnessing, photography, beer carts, and prize distribution. These supporters included Ricky King, Mike Leaf, Harry Sterling, Tom Lengerer, Bob Lorenzi Jr., Billy Tuite, Kevin Cummings, Ron Conley II, and Marty Kron.


Looking Ahead to Next Year

As stated above, the outing once again sold out, and everyone had a great time. In addition, the course management complimented the group on the organization and overall quality of the event. This marked the second year in a row that the outing reached full capacity.
