Verne Maxwell, owner of V.A. Maxwell & Associates and consultant with JB Industries, recently visited the technology center in Harmony, PA, to help integrate JB Industries’ tools and products.
Maxwell had been visiting and holding classes at the Local 449 center for years, and it was his idea to add JB products to help enhance the facility.
“When these young ladies and men work on these units, and they see these manifolds and these pumps, they get used to them,” Maxwell said. “When they get their degree and certificates to go out and are journeymen, I want them to use our product.”
By training on JB equipment internally, apprentices get used to how the product operates and will want to continue using it in the field.
JB is also one of the only companies that currently makes pumps in the United States, which drew the Steamfitters toward using their product. They take pride in being American-made and include American flags on all their products.
The Steamfitters Technology Center is the perfect place for these new tools, and JB is thankful to now be included at such a robust training facility.
“I’ve been around 42 years; there is nothing like this in my territory that I’ve seen that has this much capability for refrigeration, air conditioning, VRF, VRV, and welding,” Maxwell said. “Anything you can think of for the HVAC industry that these young men and women are going to work on, it’s here.”
