Application Information

To obtain and fill out an application the applicant must appear in person:

230 Wise Road, Harmony, Pennsylvania 16037

Entry Criteria

Everything you must meet or bring — from age, education, residency, to required tests and documentation.

The jurisdictional area covered by Local 449 is:

The applicant will be required to submit to tests for substance abuse.
Building Trades applicants MUST complete an 18-week daytime welding class without any compensation if accepted.
Mechanical Service applicants MUST complete a 10-week daytime HVACR class without any compensation if accepted.
Applicants who qualify based on written examination, (2026 exam dates to be announced) , will be granted a personal interview.

Bring These with You

Checklist of Items that MUST be submitted at the time of application:

$30.00 application fee payable by CASH OR MONEY ORDER, (NO PERSONAL CHECKS)
The money order is payable to STEAMFITTERS J.A.T.C.
Valid driver’s license
Proof of high school completion. Either official High School or Post Secondary transcripts (preferred) and/or a copy of the awarded diploma or G.E.D. paperwork showing results of the testing.
Military veterans please provide a copy of your DD-214 – Report of Separation
Resume (OPTIONAL)
