On Saturday, June 6, Local 449’s class of 2026 gathered at the Steamfitters Event Center to celebrate the next step in their Steamfitters journey.
Local 449 leaders spoke at the ceremony, giving the graduates praise and offering advice about their future in the industry.
The graduates received their certificates, solidifying the transition from apprentice to journeyman in the field. Throughout their apprentice career, they honed their craft in classrooms, training labs, and on job sites to earn the title of Journeyman.
After five years of hard work and dedication to the apprenticeship program, the ceremony was a well-deserved night full of drinks, dancing, food, fun and union brotherhood.
“We are fired up about this next generation of Steamfitters and are confident they’ll make Local 449 proud throughout their careers,” said Ken Broadbent, Local 449 Business Manager.
